Rajini sir is great: Vijayalakshmi
Heroine of ‘Hara’ (previously ‘Sultan the Warrior’) Vijayalakshmi can’t stop raving about Superstar Rajinikanth. “He is so simple, friendly and down to earth,” she says.
The ‘Chennai 600028′ girl, who was critically acclaimed for her performance in ‘Anjathey’, says, “I was scared to act with Rajini sir initially. However, he made me feel comfortable. It was a great experience working with the Superstar and his daughter Soundarya.”
On her future plans, Vijayalakshmi says, “I am not concerned about the number of films I am acting in. I would like to be part of good movies which offer good roles to me.”
Viji’s father is the national award winning filmmaker Agathiyan and his sister’s husband is Thiru, who directedVishal’s ‘Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai’. “Both of them would give me feedback, which had helped a lot to improve my performance,” the actress says.
Aanmai Thavarel gets UA
Producer Kamal Nayan is a happy man. For his venture ‘Aanmai Thavarel’ has won a UA certification from the Censor Board besides appreciations from the officials for handling a social theme.
Says the producer, “We wanted the film to reflect on an issue that is affecting the society. And we also wanted to offer a solution to it. At a time when kidnapping of children is hogging the headlines, this movie talks about the same.”
Director of the film Kuzhandhai Velappan says, “Though India is seventh largest country in the world. It is eighth most unsafe place to live. This propelled me to make a script and we are elated when Censor officials gave us a pat watching the movie and said the attempt is very genuine.”
The movie travels from Chennai to Goa and it is not just loaded with message but also has commercial elements including romance and comedy. A great admirer of Mani Ratnam, Kuzhandhai Velappan says, “I wish to continue doing films that are useful and productive for the society.”
With Dhruvah, Shruti, Sampath, Dharan, Panchu Subbu and John Vijay playing pivotal roles, music for ‘Aanmai Thavarel’ is by Mariya Manohar. All the songs have grabbed the attention of the music lovers, it is to be noted.
Robot the Rajini&; doesn& go well with Surya
Rakta Charitra’s caption ‘After Robot The Rajini – It’s Surya TheGhajini’, which grabbed the eyeballs of the masses, has been dropped from the publicity campaign of the film. It is because of Surya, who expressed his displeasure for comparing him to superstar Rajinikanth.

Surya, who is playing a key role Rakta Charitra (RC) 2, has got some negative feedbacks from various sections, says report. The actor has reportedly told Ram Gopal Varma that the tag line may not go well with the Rajini fans and requested the director to drop this caption from the film. As a result, the hoardings and posters displaying those words, have been removed, claims report.
RC 2 started its promotional activities from October last week. Director RGV, who got an excellent review for Vivek Oberoi’s portrayal as Partiala Ravi in first instalment, wanted to launch Surya in a grand way in Bollywood. So, the director wittily used the caption of this film along with superstar Rajinikanth’s recent movie Endhiran – The Robot.
3 Idiots begins in December 5 in Delhi
Reports that the makers are planning to commence the shooting of the Tamil and Telugu versions in Dehradun (where the original version was shot) were wrong.Master film maker Shankar’s proposed Tamil and Telugu remakes of Aamir Khan’s smash hit 3 Idiots will start rolling from December 5 in Delhi. However, the exact location of the shooting is kept under wraps.
Vijay and Mahesh Babu will play Aamir’s role in the Tamil and Telugu versions respectively. Arya and Jeeva will play the roles played by Madhavan and Sharman Joshi in the original, while Sathyaraj will play the role of the principal. Ileana will enact Kareena’s role in both versions.
Some changes are being made in the script to suit the tastes of the South Indian audiences. Harris Jayaraj will compose the music and Manoj Paramahamsa will crank the camera.
